BLACK RAINBOWS I Black Rainbows sono un trio nato nel 2005 a Roma per mano di Gabriele Fiori che al tempo ancora suonava con i Void Generator, band capitolina di heavy psichedelia. Il progetto parte insieme a Luca Giancotti al basso (one man band dei Nahui) e Tommaso Moretti alla batteria (Thrangh). La band inizia eseguendo pezzi scritti da Gabriele, chitarra e voce. Visti i buoni risultati il tutto viene inciso su disco e mandato in giro in tutto il mondo. Risponde l’etichetta francese Longfellow Deeds Records (già label di gruppi come Baby Woodrose, Thunder Express, Honcho, Rite, Sparzanza) che stampa il disco d’esordio: Twilight in the Desert, un mix di influenze seventies e sonorità che vanno dagli Hawkwind ai Blue Cheer passando per MC5 , Black Sabbath, King Crimson, Gong, Patto, Spirit e Pink Floyd, con una chiara matrice heavy psych, desert e stoner debitrice di Kyuss, Monster Magnet, Fu Manchu, Nebula e Queens of the Stone Age. Il disco viene in seguito raccolto in Italia dalla Go Down Records e distribuito da Audioglobe. È distribuito in altri paesi nel resto del mondo come Stati Uniti (da All That’s Heavy), Svezia, Germania, Canada, Belgio, Grecia e Francia. Dopo l’uscita del disco cambia la line up: Luca e Tommaso continuano le loro strade con i rispettivi gruppi e al loro posto arrivano Daniele Conti alla batteria e Dario Epifani al basso. Con loro si apre un nuovo capitolo della band: live in tutta Italia e concerti con Witchcraft, Dead Meadow, Black Mountain, Los Natas, White Hills, Micheal Davis degli MC5 e tanti altri. Il culmine viene raggiunto partecipando al più grande festival stoner d’Europa in Germania, lo Stoned from the Underground e a due edizione dello Stoned Hand of Doom di Roma. L’attuale line up vede al basso il nuovo entrato Marco De Masi. In vista c’è un secondo disco che verrà stampato anche in vinile e vedrà il lavoro di grafica opera di Malleus Rock Art Lab.

Black Rainbows is a power trio formed in 2005 from the joining of three musicians that came from different musical areas. The band was formed by Gabriele Fiori, that was playing yet with Void Generator, an old space psych band of the Italian scene. At least he leaved the band to dedicate himself 24 hours to Black Rainbows. At the beginning the band was formed by Gabriele (guitars, vocals), Luca Giancotti (basso, one man band Nahui) and Tommaso Moretti (drums, Thrang). They played for some times sessions on sessions in Gabriele’s recording studio Channel 5 Studio. From that sessions they had a lot of songs, so they choose the best to record their first album, called Twilight in the Desert, an eight pieces made for 35 minutes of desert, stoner, space and heavy psych rock. The entire album was recorded and produced by Gabriele in his own studio. In autumn 2006 the line up has changed cause Luca and Tommaso continued to follow their other musical projects. In the group arrived for first the new bassist Dario Epifani, then replaced by Marco De Masi. The new drummers was Daniele Conti. With the new formation Black Rainbows stars to bring people their supa fuzz stoner rock sound through live and gigs, sharing the stage with Witchcraft, Dead Meadow, Black Mountain, Los Natas, White Hills, Micheal Davis (MC5) and joining two editions of Stoned Hand of Doom Festival (Rome) and Stoned from the Underground Festival in Erfurt, Germany. At the same time the French label Longfellow Deeds Records engage the band. Black Rainbows are now recording new songs for the second album, whose artwork will be done by Malleus Rock Art Lab.
