We play Doom Stoner Satan, a loud and dirty music between the Electric Wizard and Black Sabbath, with dumb and loud riffs\u00bb. Il comunicato sembra voler dire: noi siamo gli Huata e voi andatevene a fare in culo. Ad un primo ascolto, tale ipotesi sembra trovare un valido riscontro. Ebbene s\u00ec, loro sono gli Huata e ci mandano a fare in culo. Questi sacerdoti francesi della lacerazione fisica, con l&#8217;EP &#8220;The Gate of Shambhala&#8221;, ci iniettano endovena litri di liquefame sludge stoner doom estremo oltre ogni misura. Il platter nella sua interezza (30 minuti di durata) straborda sporcizia in ogni dove, grazie soprattutto ad una produzione dannatamente lo-fi, alle soglie dell&#8217;udibilit\u00e0.<br \/>\nGrowls micidiali e d&#8217;oltretomba, riffing di basso e chitarra ultra down-tuned e batteria mammoth. Date all&#8217;uomo di Neanderthal una Les Paul e lui vi suoner\u00e0 come gli Huata. Sono primitivi, a volte essenziali, inverosimilmente sporchi e stonati come la tradizione stoner vuole. Tra le monumentali distorsioni di &#8220;Alchemist Reborn&#8221; e &#8220;Ratzinger Pussycat&#8221; (sentire il Santo Padre campionato nel bel mezzo di cotanto caos \u00e8 un&#8217;esperienza unica), si fanno spazio anche accelerazioni heavy blues ed un appeal vagamente grunge, a rendere questo EP tutto fuorch\u00e9 monotematico e\/o scontato.<br \/>\nCome a voler rincarare la dose, posta alla fine del disco, troviamo &#8220;Rotten Dick&#8221;, ovvero una delle massime consacrazioni sonore dello stoner doom. Esemplare nella struttura, efficace nell&#8217;intermezzo centrale, dove il mantra hypno-doom viene sostituito da un irresistibile riff stoner rock, e catacombale nella sua chiusura. Le influenze, che ve lo dico a fare, sono: Weedeater, Eyehategod, Electric Wizard e l&#8217;allegra combriccola del bong.<br \/>\nL&#8217;album lo trovate in free-download nel myspace della band.
