Li avevamo lasciati alla svolta di \u201cThe Light Album\u201d, frizzante garage psych che segnava un punto di svolta rispetto ai monoliti stoner \u201cExtended.Playing\u201d e \u201cHeavy\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Il nuovo \u201c<strong>Under the Thunder<\/strong>\u201d prosegue su quella stessa strada: <strong>garage rock\u2019n\u2019roll sporco <\/strong>e<strong> aggressivo<\/strong>, caratterizzato da un muro di suono sempre possente (\u00e8 l\u2019ultimo punto di contatto rimasto con le sonorit\u00e0 degli esordi) e da una produzione scintillante (effettuata non a caso da <strong>Michael Davis<\/strong> from <strong>MC5<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p>Puntano al riconoscimento internazionale i quattro ragazzi di Treviso e a pieno merito. Questo nuovo disco infatti non ha nulla da invidiare ad altri prodotti simili che i mercati americano e britannico sfornano quotidianamente. Scuola MC5, The Stooges, Blue Cheer e Grand Funk ai massimi livelli, debordanti intervalli psichedelici, riff e ritmiche che puntano dritti allo stomaco. \u00c8 questa la ricetta OJM, colorato caleidoscopio che partorisce gioielli super garage (ascoltare le bellissime \u201cI\u2019m Not an American\u201d, \u201cLonelyness\u201d e \u201cGive Me Your Money\u201d per credere), mazzate fuzz piazzate tra i denti (\u201cSixties\u201d, \u201cStoned Love\u201d, \u201cDirty Nights\u201d), rallentamenti che travolgono per forza ed impeto (l\u2019heavy psych ribollente che anima \u201cM.C.I\u201d) e grandissimi episodi psichedelici.<\/p>\n<p>Parliamo di \u201cStarshine\u201d \u2013 il deserto prima e dopo una tempesta di sabbia \u2013 e della conclusiva \u201cBrant B\u201d, tributo vivente al grande Brant Bjork, compagno di jam, viaggi e sbronze. Agli OJM manca soltanto la definitiva consacrazione per portare a compimento la propria opera. Che sia \u201cUnder the Thunder\u201d il disco chiave?
