Per il decimo anno (non consecutivo, causa Covid) si ripropone il Festival che anima il Daytona National Speedway in Florida, a pochi chilometri a nord di Miami. L&#8217;evento quest&#8217;anno si tiene <strong>dall&#8217;11 al 14 novembre<\/strong> e\u00a0si mantiene in linea rispetto agli scorsi anni proponendo la solita miscela hard &amp; heavy fusa con punk hardcore, stoner e hip hop, in linea con la filosofia del festival.<\/p>\n<p>Diamo uno sguardo ad alcune delle band presenti, da tenere assolutamente d&#8217;occhio. Nella prima giornata spiccano gli headliner <strong>Slipknot<\/strong>, <strong>Cypress Hill<\/strong> e <strong>Stone Temple Pilots<\/strong>. Occhio per\u00f2 ai newyorkesi <strong>Brass Against<\/strong> che portano sul palco rabbia e politica a colpi di fiati, presentando e rifacendo classici heavy.<\/p>\n<p>Nella seconda giornata ci saranno i <strong>Metallica<\/strong> che si presenteranno poi anche nella serata di chiusura per due concerti con due set unici e distinti. Nel corso della\u00a0stessa giornata attenzione a <strong>Rob Zombie<\/strong> e <strong>Social Distortion<\/strong>: riguardo a questi ultimi, sar\u00e0 una grande occasione vedere Mike Ness e soci dal vivo. Fermi discograficamente dal 2011, i Social Distortion ci hanno ormai abituato a uscite a intervalli decennali con il loro rock&#8217;n&#8217;roll pervaso di blues, punk e sano country. Da tenere in considerazione, infine, <strong>Amigo the Devil<\/strong>, folksinger e menestrello moderno ma non tanto. Il suo ultimo lavoro, <em>Born Against<\/em>, \u00e8 stata una piacevole sorpresa: a tratti isterico (isterismo alla Jethro Tull) e intriso di oscurit\u00e0, il disco scorre poi come un piacevole <em>psycodrama<\/em> circense.<\/p>\n<p>Terza giornata: oltre a <strong>Disturbed<\/strong>, <strong>Staind<\/strong> e <strong>Lamb of God<\/strong> che la fanno da headliner, c&#8217;\u00e8 interesse per i <strong>Dead Poets Society<\/strong> che presentano uno strano miscuglio di blues, punk e muri sonori altissimi e grezzi. I pi\u00f9 nostalgici, invece, avranno occhi soltanto per i <strong>Gwar<\/strong>, la folle band satirica di capolavori come\u00a0<em>Scumdogs of the Universe<\/em> e <em>Ragnar\u00f6k<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Si chiude la quarta e ultima giornata con i Metallica, i sempre vivi <strong>Lynyrd Skynyrd<\/strong>, i <strong>Mudvayne<\/strong> (al ritorno sui palchi dopo dodici anni), i sempreverdi <strong>Anthrax<\/strong> e i <strong>Mastodoon<\/strong>, che propongono (ormai da vent&#8217;anni, non solo per chi li ha scoperti con <em>Blood Mountain<\/em> e <em>Crack the Skye<\/em>) il loro metal atipico con venature psych, esplorando percorsi e territori intrisi di doom e stoner. For the tenth year (not consecutive, due to Covid), the Festival, at the Daytona National Speedway, Florida, will be held again next November. The appointment is a few miles north of Miami, <strong>from 11 to 14 November<\/strong>. Also this year the fest remains in line with previous years by proposing the usual mixture hard &amp; heavy fused with hard core punk and hip hop, in line with the festival philosophy.<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s take a look at some of the bands in attendance, to keep an eye on. For the first day <strong>Slipknot<\/strong>, <strong>Cypress Hill<\/strong>, <strong>Stone Temple Pilots<\/strong> will be the headliners.\u00a0But keep an eye on the New Yorkers <strong>Brass Against<\/strong> who bring anger and politics to the stage with rass, presenting and remaking heavy classics.<\/p>\n<p>On the second day there will be <strong>Metallica<\/strong> who will also attend in the closing evening, for two concerts with two unique and distinct sets. Same day for <strong>Rob Zombie<\/strong> and <strong>Social Distortion<\/strong>: regarding them, it will be a great opportunity to see Mike Ness &amp; C. live. They stopped recording since 2011, but SC have accustomed us to record releases at ten-year intervals with their rock and roll pervaded by blues, punk and healthy country.\u00a0Watch out for <strong>Amigo the Devil<\/strong> too. The folksinger and modern minstrel (but not so much) was a pleasant surprise with his latest work <em>Born Against<\/em>: at times hysterical (hysteria like Jethro Tull) and steeped in darkness, the album then flows like a pleasant circus psycodrama.<\/p>\n<p>On the third day in addition to headiliners\u00a0<strong>Disturbed<\/strong>, <strong>Staind<\/strong> and <strong>Lamb of God<\/strong>, the interest will be for <strong>Dead Poets Society<\/strong> who present a strange mixture of blues, punk and very high and rough sounding walls.\u00a0The most nostalgic, however, only will have eyes for <strong>Gwar<\/strong>, the cult band of masterpieces like <em>Scumdogs of the Universe<\/em> e <em>Ragnar\u00f6k<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Fourth and last day with Metallica, the always alive <strong>Lynyrd Skynyrd<\/strong>, <strong>Mudvayne<\/strong> (back on stage after twelve years), <strong>Anthrax<\/strong> and <strong>Mastodon<\/strong> who have been offering (for twenty years now) a very atypical metal with psycho veins, exploring paths and territories steeped in doom and stoner.
